Upgrade Your Big Game Party with These Paleo Snack Recipes

The Big Game is right around the corner, and Americans will literally spend billions on food and drinks.

Let's face it, the majority of them aren't exactly going to do anyone's waistline or blood sugar any favors.

That doesn't have to be you, and the good news is, serving healthy snacks doesn't mean any less tastiness. In fact, a bunch of these recipes include bacon!!

Here's 15 of our favorite paleo recipes collected from around the inter webs so you can upgrade your Big Game snack profile:

1. Bacon and Jalapeno Chicken Bites

Instead of saving the best for last, we're hitting you with that fire right out of the gate.

This is my favorite recipe on this list, because it's tasty beyond belief, super simple, and includes bacon.

One tip: double up on these, at least. These things go super fast.

2. Bacon Wrapped Sweet Potato Wedges

If you think you're sensing a theme here, you actually are. I LOVE bacon.

It's not unfair to say I have an unnatural affinity for bacon. Plus I love sweet potatoes, and there's something about the flavor profiles that go together like peanut butter and jelly (better actually, and they won't make you fat).

3. Apple Bacon Poppers

It doesn't get simpler.

You already know that applewood smoked bacon is a party in your mouth, but wrapping a bit of the good stuff around an apple is even better.

Here's another one you better make more than you think you need.

4. Potato Cakes with Bacon and Smoked Salmon

Besides tasting great, these things make you look like a boss in the kitchen.

Don't let that sophisticated look fool you though, these aren't that tough to make.

5. Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon

The big guns.

This right here is good for any occasion, but if you cut your filets into medallions, you've got a finger food fit for a king.

6. Bacon-Wrapped Maple-Glazed Carrots

Here's one that the kids at your party will go crazy for, if the adults leave any behind for them to grab.

Takes a bit longer than you might expect, so give yourself plenty of time to get these done before kickoff.

7. Bacon-Wrapped Port Medallions

You read that right: this one doubles up on the other white meat.

The linked recipe includes a link to a tremendous barbecue sauce you can make your own.

Even the biggest junk food addict in your group will devour these.

8. 50/50/50 Burgers

If you've never tried a recipe from Lina at Strictly Delicious, you're missing out. She puts together some absolutely incredible and creative kitchen miracles.

This one is really special. These burgers include liver. Organ meats like liver are the most nutrient dense foods on the planet, but the modern pallet is loathe to try them.

Don't even tell your guests these things have liver in them and they won't even notice.

9. Lemony Bacon Brussels Sprouts

I bet as a kid you hated Brussels sprouts.

Maybe as an adult you still do. Let's fix that with this bacon-enhanced masterpiece.

If your party guests can't get over the fact that Brussels sprouts are on the menu that just means more for you!

10. Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

Let's do one more bacon-wrapped adventure.

This is a snack that's great for game day and for any other time. I like to pack them in lunches, but if I'm being honest, they are best fresh.

We've all had an unpleasant experience re-heating asparagus right?

 11. Blueberry Expresso Brownies

Let's indulge that sweet tooth, shall we?

One word describes these brownies: FIRE! No, not spicy, just so good that's the only word that works.

Like anything involving baking, don't mess with the recipe, just follow along exactly.

12. Lemon Bars

Lemon bars are one of my all-time favorite desserts, and these ones are guilt free.

Fair warning though, you need a food processor.

13. Gluten Free Real Food Mounds Bars

Coconut and chocolate are forever partners.

The best news here is you don't even have to bake anything.

On a side note, Tessa The Domestic Diva will change your relationship with healthy food. Her site is highly recommended.

14. Avocado Key Lime Cheesecake

This shouldn't work at all, but it totally does.

Something about avocado playing well with lime in a nut-based crusty playground is just magic.

I had to take a few stabs to get this right, so either I'm an idiot (entirely possible), or this one is not for beginners. The later is likely not true, but make sure you follow the recipe exactly and take your time.

15. Salted Caramel Cheesecake Bites

Salted caramel is forever a party favorite.

You can keep your guests happy without giving them diabetes with these two-bite superheroes.

Whether you're hosting or visiting for the Big Game, these 15 paleo recipes will make you a game-time celebrity.

And all the while, you won't be killing your friends.
